Kapap Krav Maga

Our combative brand of Krav Maga is unique to FightLab, and is an extremely aggressive form of self defence which infuses KAPAP Krav Maga & JuJitsu takedowns, pins & ground n pound along with striking techniques, scenario drills and our Combudo CP4 training framework.

Kapap Krav Maga differs from regular Krav Maga as it relies on a set of principles rather that a fixed syllabus meaning we will draw on aspects of many martial arts such as JuJitsu, Keysi, Escrima & Sambo. The purpose of Krav Maga is to quickly neutralise the threat by attacking weak areas such as the groin, knees of eyes followed by a direct aggressive attack.

The system works on 5 main principles which is:

  1. Relative position
  2. Two points of contact
  3. Balance displacement
  4. Push and pull
  5. High and low

Classes taught by Sensei Mark Rawson, a IKA UK Level 1 qualified Kapap Krav Maga Instructor.

The ten most common street attacks we focus on

  1. A swinging punch to the head.
  2. A front clothing grab, one handed, followed by punch to the head.
  3. A front clothing grab, two hands, followed by a head butt.
  4. A front clothing grab, two hands, followed by a knee to the groin.
  5. A bottle, glass, or ashtray to the head.
  6. A lashing kick to groin/lower legs.
  7. A broken bottle/glass jabbed to face.
  8. A slash with knife, most commonly a 3 to 4″ lock blade knife or kitchen utility knife.
  9. A grappling style head lock.
