Sifu/Sensei Mark Rawson

Being an avid enthusiast of 1970s & 1980s Kung Fu films, Mark was interested in martial arts from a young age, training Judo from 9yrs. After a short time Mark switched to Karate & Boxing.

After moving house in the 90s Mark switched to Lau Gar Kung Fu & Kickboxing/Muay Thai & Northern Shaolin 7-Star Praying Mantis, in the lineage of Grandmaster Lee Kam Wing from Hong Kong, whilst carrying on training in Muay Thai at Bad Company Muay Thai Gym & Tiger Gym in Leeds.. 

When the MMA craze hit in the early 00’s Mark started to cross train grappling, originally in Combat Submission Wrestling (a mixture of Catch Wrestling & BJJ) and is now an Instructor in Combat Ju-Jitsu (JJJ) under the godfather of UK MMA ‘Hanshi’ Lee Hasdell, coaching Russian Combat Sambo & Sambo Wrestling under head coach Brian Lister of the British Sambo Federation and teaching Sanda (Chinese Kickboxing) under the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts.

SANDA/SANSHOU KICKBOXING – Licensed instructor for the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts

RUSSIAN SAMBO – Level 2 Coach for the British Sambo Federation

MUAY THAI – Red Prajioud (Instructor) from the Master Sken Academy Stockport

KICKBOXING – 2nd Dan black belt in from Master Andrew Morrell

COMBAT JU-JITSU – 3rd Dan black belt in Combat Ju-Jitsu awarded by former Pro-Shoot-Fighter, Professor Lee Hasdell

KRAV MAGA/KAPAP – Level 1 coach the International Kapap Association

HAWAIIAN KAJUKENBO -UK representative of the Worldwide Kajukenbo Federation. Member of the international board

RAPID ASSAULT TACTICS (JEET KUNE DO CONCEPTS)  – Level 1 Instructor from Intensive Training Group

As the highest student grade Wil aids with kids classes & teaching new starters. 

Prior to training in Sambo & Sanda, Wil has competed extensively in Taekwondo and Karate.
