FlowLab teach a Vinyasa Yoga based practice also drawing from other form of Yoga. The emphasis here is on movement to achieve optimum mobility, coordination and relaxation. Classes can be either gentle & restorative or a challenging Vinaysa Flow depending on the students wishes.
What is Yoga?
Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The word Yoga means 'union' - the yoking of the individual spirit to the universal consciousness, the yoking of mind & body and the yoking of movement with breath.
What is Vinyasa Flow yoga?
Vinyasa, which in Sanskrit means to place with awareness, is also used to describe breath linked with movement. Similar to other styles of yoga, such as Ashtanga and Jivamukti, generally, there is no set sequence of postures in a Vinyasa Flow class.
What can I expect in a Vinyasa Flow class?
There are lots of different ways we teach a Vinyasa Flow class. Classes can be slower, alignment-based class where you explore each posture in more depth. Other classes can be more vigorous, dynamic, movement-based postures and sequences. Vinyasa Flow classes can be challenging because they are often so dynamic, so choose the level that best suits you.
