COMBAT BUDO MMA



Combudo is a Japanese MMA style allowing all forms of striking including headbutts, takedowns & ground fighting. Fighters compete in Gi & wear headguards with face covers (as seen below), MMA gloves & shin pads.
Created in Japan in 2000, Combudo created a non political, non interfering open source platform for likeminded groups and individuals who appreciate the traditional samurai codes with modern day practical applications of strategy, tactics and techniques.

Combudo was founded in 2000 in Japan with the objectives of being a platform for traditional martial arts, modern combat styles, combatives and personal protection systems. Now based in the UK and led by martial arts innovator, ex professional Japanese MMA fighter and multiple style champion Lee Hasdell (8th Dan Dai-Shihan). Since 2000 Combudo has hosted and facilitated many events, seminars and grading days in a wide range of disciplines from:
